גָּלוּת galut a feminine singular noun from this root also occurs in Amos (1:6, 9). Since this "exile" is complete or whole and the verb "to carry into exile" is used I have rendered this noun by "people" (an example of how even a literal translation cannot be completely literal, if it is to read as English).
