ראה r'h "see" is often a close synonym of chazah, in Amos chazah is only used for prophetic "seeing" while ra'ah refers both to Amos' visions (Amos 7:1, 4, 7, 8; 8:1, 2; 9:1) and to ordinary seeing (Amos 3:9; 6:2). Both Am 3:9 and 6:2 refer to witnesses.
