יְרוּשָׁלַםִ or יְרוּשָׁלַיִם  yerushalaim Jerusalem, main city in Judah (see Dictionary article), mention of Jerusalem in the hymnic fragment in Am 1:1 is somewhat odd if one imagines these words addressed to people in the northern kingdom. Like the reference to David in 9:11 it may be an idication that the book was compiled with Judean hearers in view.
